A violent shooting in the Frayser neighborhood Saturday night has left one man dead and two others critically injured, according to the Memphis Police Department (MPD). The victim who died at the scene has been identified as Zayy Stacks.
Officers were dispatched to the 2200 block of Frayser Boulevard just before 10:30 p.m. after receiving multiple reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, police found three men suffering from gunshot wounds.
Emergency responders pronounced Zayy Stacks deceased on the scene. The two surviving victims were rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition, where they continue to receive medical treatment.
Disturbance Inside Store Led to Shooting
According to MPD’s preliminary investigation, the incident began as a disturbance inside a local store involving the two injured men and two additional, as-yet-unidentified men. At some point, the conflict escalated into gunfire, spilling outside the business and resulting in the deadly shooting.
Witnesses reported seeing the two unidentified suspects flee the scene immediately afterward. One was described as wearing all black clothing, while the other was reportedly wearing a blue shirt.
Suspects Still at Large
As of Sunday morning, no arrests have been made. MPD continues to search for the two suspects and is urging the public to come forward with any information that may help solve the case.

The Frayser community, already grappling with rising violence, is once again mourning the loss of a young life. Friends of Zayy Stacks have taken to social media to express heartbreak, calling him a “beloved friend” and “a good soul taken too soon.”
