Wrestling Mourns the Loss of Former WWE Star Sir Mo (Robert Horne), Dead at 58 After Battle with Pneumonia

The wrestling community is deeply saddened by the passing of Robert “Bobby” Horne, better known to fans worldwide as Sir Mo, one half of the beloved 1990s WWE tag team Men on a Mission. Horne passed away at the age of 58 after an extended battle with pneumonia and a severe blood infection.

According to reports, Horne had been hospitalized for nearly two months, receiving intensive medical care as he fought his illness. His wife, Denise Horne, remained by his side throughout his health battle, sharing periodic updates with fans and expressing gratitude for their continued prayers and support.

Sir Mo rose to prominence in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, now WWE) between 1993 and 1996, teaming with Nelson Frazier Jr. — known to fans as Mabel, and later Viscera — to form the energetic and crowd-pleasing duo Men on a Mission. Together, they captured the WWE Tag Team Championship, solidifying their place in wrestling history with their charismatic presence and entertaining performances.

The news of Horne’s death was confirmed by wrestling legend Leilani Kai, who shared a heartfelt tribute on social media:

“It breaks my heart to hear that Bobby Horne, better known as Sir Mo of Men on a Mission, has passed away. He was always smiling, always kind, and had a way of making everyone feel welcome — especially those new to the business. Bobby loved wrestling, loved the fans, and loved giving back. Rest in peace, my friend. You will be dearly missed.”

Beyond his time in WWE, Horne continued to make an impact in the wrestling industry, performing on the independent circuit and mentoring young talent. His dedication to the sport and his reputation as a supportive and genuine presence earned him deep respect among his peers.

Sir Mo’s passing comes more than a decade after the death of his former tag team partner, Mabel (Nelson Frazier Jr.), who died in 2014 at the age of 43. Together, they left behind a lasting legacy of fun, charisma, and brotherhood that resonated with fans across generations.

Horne is survived by his wife, Denise, and their family. Tributes from fellow wrestlers, fans, and colleagues have flooded social media, celebrating not only his achievements in the ring but also his humility, humor, and kindness outside of it.

The wrestling world remembers Sir Mo as more than a performer — he was a mentor, a friend, and a true gentleman who left an indelible mark on the sport he loved.

Rest in peace, Sir Mo. Your legacy lives on in the hearts of fans and friends around the world.
