Investigators revealed that the couple’s teen daughter had been asleep when she suddenly awoke to what she described as loud explosions echoing through the house. Still confused from sleep and overwhelmed by the noise, she ran toward her parents’ room, only to find her father bleeding just outside the bedroom doorway.
Moments later, she discovered her mother nearby, leading her to dial emergency services in a state of panic and disbelief. Officers and medical personnel responded quickly, but the severity of the injuries was immediately clear, leaving the young girl’s cries echoing across the yard as neighbors emerged from their homes.
