BRYAN, Texas – The law and accounting firm Thompson, Derrig & Craig, P.C. is mourning the loss of senior partner Ronnie Lynn Craig, CPA, who passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. He was a respected leader in the firm and throughout the Brazos Valley business community.

Craig, a graduate of Texas Tech University in 1986, earned his CPA license in 1988 before beginning his career with the audit and tax staff of Price Waterhouse (now PwC). In 1994, he joined Thompson, Derrig & Craig, where he became a central figure in tax strategy and audit services. Over the course of three decades, he established enduring client relationships built on trust, technical skill, and sound counsel.
Beyond his professional work, Craig served in numerous leadership roles in the community. He was a member of the Regional Board of Directors for First Financial Bank, and previously served on the boards of The Bank and Trust of Bryan College Station and The First National Bank of Bryan. His commitment to professional service included terms as president of both the TXCPA Brazos Valley chapter and the Brazos Valley Estate and Financial Planning Council.
Craig was also deeply engaged in community service, volunteering his time with the City of Bryan, Bryan ISD, various non-profits, and as an active member of the First Baptist Church of Bryan.
Colleagues described him as a trusted advisor, mentor, and friend. Known for his quick wit, warmth, and integrity, Craig played a key role in shaping the firm’s culture. “His laughter, mentorship, and steady leadership created an environment of mutual respect and genuine friendship,” the firm shared in a statement.
Craig is survived by his wife, Gay Vick Craig, a 1983 graduate of Texas A&M University, and their two daughters, Emily (married to Charlie Smith) and Kinsey (married to Andrés López).
