Riley Faris Obituary, Death; Kansas woman arrested after crash that killed motorcyclist
Riley Faris Obituary, Death; – Law enforcement officials are investigating a deadly two-vehicle collision that took place shortly before 7 p.m. on Friday in Saline County. The victim has been identified as 30-year-old Riley Faris from Salina, as stated by the Saline County Sheriff. Additionally, deputies have made an arrest.
As reported by the sheriff’s office, a custom 1986 Harley Davidson, operated by Faris, was traveling westbound on Kansas 140 Highway at Perry Street in Brookville. A 2003 Subaru Forester, driven by 39-year-old Kylie Barnett from Kanopolis, collided with the motorcycle from behind.
Faris was thrown from the motorcycle upon impact and was pronounced dead at the scene. Deputies arrested Barnett at the location and subsequently booked her into the Saline County Jail on charges including Driving While Suspended, No Proof of Insurance, and Following Too Closely.
Investigators concluded that alcohol was not involved in the incident. According to online jail records, Barnett is no longer in custody.
