TOWNS COUNTY, Ga. — A 21-year-old Cleveland woman has died following a single-vehicle crash on Highway 75 in Towns County Sunday night while climbing Unicoi Mountain, authorities confirmed.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, the crash occurred shortly before 10 p.m. near Indian Gap Grove Road. Investigators say Kinsey Grice, who was driving a Toyota Avalon, crossed over the center line for reasons still under investigation, left the roadway, and overturned down an embankment.
The vehicle came to rest roughly 80 feet below the highway. First responders arrived on scene and found Grice deceased. She was the only occupant of the vehicle, and no other cars were involved in the accident.
The Towns County Coroner’s Office confirmed the tragic death, while troopers noted that road conditions were clear at the time of the crash. The exact cause remains under investigation.
News of Grice’s passing has left her family and friends in shock. Loved ones remembered her as a kind and caring young woman who touched many lives with her warmth and compassion. One close friend shared an emotional tribute: “On August 24th, I received the devastating news of losing my childhood best friend. It’s hard to believe I’m facing the loss of a friend, especially at such a young age. Kinsey’s memory will live on through the impact she had as a kind and caring person. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Please keep the Grice family, who are like my own, in your prayers as they navigate through this difficult time.”
The crash has devastated both the Cleveland and Towns County communities, where neighbors and classmates continue to share condolences and memories of Grice on social media. Many have described her as someone who brought joy and light to those around her, with a promising future ahead.
Funeral and memorial arrangements have not yet been announced, but family and friends are asking for continued prayers as they grieve the loss of a daughter, friend, and beloved member of the community.
