Jordan J Jeffrey Obituary, Death; – An 18-year-old individual from Waukegan, a graduate of Warren Township High School, has been named following his death in a motorcycle accident where he was thrown from his bike and subsequently hit by a semi-truck.

The Illinois State Police were alerted at approximately 2:37 p.m. on Thursday to a report of a vehicle collision with injuries in the vicinity of Interstate 294 near Wolfe Road in Franklin Park.

Upon arrival, troopers discovered a three-vehicle accident in the southbound lanes, west of Wolf Road near milepost 37, as reported by state police. The incident involved a motorcycle, a white Mercedes van, and a white semi-tractor-trailer truck.

According to state police, initial investigations indicate that the Mercedes Sprinter van and the Freightliner semi-truck were both traveling southbound on Interstate 294.

Both vehicles were moving slowly due to significant traffic congestion.

The Kawasaki motorcycle, which was also heading southbound, was weaving through the lanes of traffic, as stated by state police. The motorcyclist lost control and collided with the rear of the Mercedes van.

On Monday, the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the motorcyclist as Jordan J. Jeffrey, 18, from Waukegan.

Jeffrey was thrown from his motorcycle and landed on the roadway, where he was subsequently struck by the semi-truck.

He was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to state police.

The medical examiner’s office reported that Jeffrey passed away shortly after arriving at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood. The interstate was partially obstructed while troopers conducted their investigation into the crash.

State police have advised motorists to reduce speed and move over when approaching any accident scene.

An autopsy conducted by the medical examiner’s office confirmed that Jeffrey died due to blunt force injuries sustained in the crash.

Jeffrey, who resided on the border of Gurnee and Waukegan, was a recent graduate of Warren Township High School in Gurnee.
