The healthcare community is mourning the loss of Dr. Lucie Shanahan, a deeply respected leader and longtime member of Albury Wodonga Health, who passed away after dedicating 25 years to improving the lives of countless people across the region.

Dr. Shanahan’s distinguished career was defined by her commitment to public service, compassion for others, and unwavering integrity. She served as Executive Director of Public Health, Mental Health and Wellbeing, and Chief Allied Health Officer, guiding her teams with empathy and vision.

Her leadership was especially impactful during the COVID-19 pandemic, when she played a central role in coordinating efforts to protect and support communities across Victoria and New South Wales. She was admired for her calm strength, principled decision-making, and ability to unite people under a shared mission of care and progress.
