Christian Rosas Obituary, Death; – A suspect who was shot and killed by Goodyear police officers during an investigation into a stolen vehicle has been identified as 19-year-old Christian Rosas, according to officials from Peoria.

Goodyear officers received an alert regarding a potentially stolen vehicle shortly before 11 p.m. near Dysart Road and Interstate 10 on the night of October 18, as reported by the Peoria Police Department, which is conducting the investigation into the shooting.
The police located the vehicle as it entered a parking lot situated at the southwest corner of Dysart Road and Van Buren Street, as stated in a news release from October 20. When officers approached, the suspect fled on foot to the north from the vehicle.
The officers pursued Rosas. As he neared a roadway and brandished a handgun, the officers discharged their weapons, according to the Peoria police report.
Three Goodyear officers fired their weapons, and all officers involved had their body-worn cameras activated at the time, as noted by Peoria police in the release.
Medical assistance was rendered to Rosas by the officers present at the scene; however, he succumbed to his injuries at the location. A handgun was recovered next to the suspect, according to police reports.
No injuries were reported among the police officers involved.
