Five friends tragically lost their lives in a crash over the weekend, as reported by authorities. On Saturday, shortly after 9 p.m., the fatal incident occurred on Ardee Road near Dundalk in Ireland, as confirmed by Irish police.

The collision involved two vehicles: a Volkswagen Golf and a Toyota Land Cruiser. Out of the six individuals in the Volkswagen, five perished.
The police have identified the five deceased as 23-year-old Chloe McGee, 23-year-old Dylan Commins, 21-year-old Chloe Hipson, 23-year-old Alan McCluskey, and 21-year-old Shay Duffy.
“Numbed and shocked by the horrific road crash that has resulted in the loss of five young lives,” stated Ireland’s Prime Minister Michael Martin on X. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of these young individuals.”
The occupants of the Toyota were also transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
“This is a shocking and devastating event for these families, their communities, and the community here in Dundalk,” Superintendent Armstrong remarked, encouraging anyone with information that could assist to come forward.
The officer confirmed that an autopsy will be conducted in the coming days.
