According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSP) Xenia Post, which is leading the investigation, the Mustang was traveling eastbound on Bellbrook Avenue when the driver veered off the right side of the roadway. The car struck a curb, a mailbox, and a tree before colliding with a parked Honda CR-V and a Honda Odyssey. The force of the impact caused debris to scatter across the area, damaging a nearby Toyota Camry and even striking a nearby home.
Emergency responders arrived swiftly at the scene to find extensive damage and two individuals ejected from the vehicle — the 23-year-old male driver and his 18-year-old passenger, later identified as Ashton Evans of Xenia. Both sustained severe injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital. Tragically, Ashton later succumbed to those injuries despite life-saving efforts by medical personnel.
The driver remains hospitalized with serious injuries. Authorities have not yet released his name, and it is unclear whether impairment or excessive speed played a role in the crash.
