Xander James Cupp Obituary-Death News;  19-Year-Old Passes Away From Injuries Sustained In A Crash Near Neosho

The community of Joplin, Missouri, is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Xander James Cupp, a bright and beloved young man whose life was tragically cut short at the age of 19 following an automobile accident. Born on November 17, 2005, Xander brought boundless joy, humor, and light into the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know him. His passing has left a deep void in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were touched by his warmth and spirit.

Xander was the cherished son of Charles “Andy” and Amber (Beale) Cupp, and the adored big brother to Mikynna and Leah. From a young age, he was known for his infectious laughter and sharp wit—always the one to make people smile, even in difficult moments. His humor, kindness, and compassion were the hallmarks of a soul far wiser than his years.

His education began at Heartland Christian Academy in Bethel, Missouri, where he attended from the age of three until fifteen and was active in basketball. During his time at Heartland Community Church, Xander accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and followed in believers’ baptism—an expression of his deep and sincere faith. He often served alongside his parents at church events, helping with the annual missions conference, open house, and community meal deliveries. His giving nature shone through in every act of service.

Xander later graduated from Webb City High School in 2024. While balancing his studies, he worked at Subway in Carthage and Casey’s locations in Joplin, Webb City, and Oronogo. At the time of his passing, he was developing his mechanical skills at All Around Automotive in Granby, working proudly with his “Papa” Mark. He often spoke of one day taking over the family business, driven by both his mechanical talent and his entrepreneurial ambition.

Outside of work, Xander was a creative soul who explored his artistic side through tattooing and design. He had an eye for detail and a gift for self-expression that reflected his individuality and zest for life. Whether turning a wrench, sketching a new design, or making a joke that sent everyone into laughter, Xander did everything with passion and authenticity.

To his family, Xander was more than a son or brother—he was a best friend, a confidant, and a protector. His fiancée, Halle Hannum, and his wide circle of friends describe him as someone who loved deeply, gave selflessly, and approached every day with a big heart and an even bigger smile.

Even in death, Xander’s generosity continues to shine. As an organ donor, he gave the gift of life to others, ensuring that his compassionate spirit will live on in ways that words can barely capture.

Xander is preceded in death by his uncle, Blake Fitzgerald, and great-grandparents Ed Clevenger, Bernadine and Ronald E. Crews, and Katherine Hawkins. He is survived by his loving parents, sisters, fiancée, and a large, devoted extended family.

Though his time on earth was brief, Xander’s impact will be everlasting. He will be remembered for his humor, his faith, his love for family, and his unwavering kindness. His light continues to shine in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Rest in peace, Xander James Cupp. Your laughter and love will never fade.
