Jaskaran Anand Obituary News- Halifax Mourns Death of Cherished Resident, scientist, and artist Bright, Creative Soul
The Halifax community is mourning the passing of Jaskaran Anand, a cherished resident, scientist, and artist whose warmth, intellect, and creativity touched many lives.
Jaskaran, affectionately known to friends as “Jas,” was a Saint Mary’s University graduate, earning a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Biology. Passionate about research and discovery, he worked as an analytical chemistry research assistant, where his curiosity and dedication to learning left a lasting impression on colleagues and mentors alike.
An enthusiastic learner and innovative thinker, Jaskaran was known for his deep appreciation of science and technology. He dreamed of joining an organization where he could grow, contribute meaningfully, and apply his skills to make a positive impact.
Beyond his academic and professional pursuits, Jas was a chef by passion — someone who found joy in cooking and sharing food with friends. He also had a remarkable artistic side, often spending hours creating canvas paintings and sketches that reflected his vibrant imagination and love for beauty in the everyday.
To those who knew him, Jaskaran was more than his accomplishments — he was a kind-hearted, motivated, and joyful soul who lifted others with his presence.
A Celebration of Life
Friends and family will gather to celebrate Jaskaran’s life on October 24th from 8–10 p.m. at @rumours.hfx. Flowers are encouraged. Following the remembrance, there will be a dance party — a fitting tribute to a young man who “loved dancing, so come dance with him one last time,” wrote local artist @mpine.art in a heartfelt post.
As Halifax remembers Jaskaran Anand, his legacy lives on through the art he created, the science he pursued, and the many lives he touched with his kindness and light.
Rest in peace, Jas. You will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
