Christopher Kyle Reid Jr Obituary, Death; Triple homicide suspect from Hubbard shoots himself after shooting, killing three others in Mabank
Christopher Kyle Reid Jr Obituary, Death; – A man from Hubbard has been named as the suspect in a triple homicide investigation following a shooting incident early Friday morning that resulted in the deaths of three individuals and left two others injured and hospitalized.

According to the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a 911 emergency call at a residence located off Taos Drive in the Cedar Creek Cove Subdivision of Mabank at approximately 2:30 a.m. on Friday.
The sheriff’s office reported that law enforcement discovered several individuals suffering from gunshot injuries, with three individuals pronounced dead at the scene.
The deceased have been identified as follows:
Kimberly Simpson, a 51-year-old woman who suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
Connie Patrick, a 72-year-old woman who also sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
Ronny Hammonds, a 57-year-old man who endured a gunshot wound, blunt force trauma, and multiple stab wounds.
Two victims were transported to UT Health Hospital in Tyler:
Colton Reid, a 24-year-old man who is currently in stable condition.
Henry Hopgood, a 70-year-old man who is in critical condition.
The suspect has been identified by the sheriff’s office as Christopher Kyle Reid Jr., a 29-year-old man from Hubbard. After the incident in Mabank, Reid was reportedly involved in a separate occurrence in Ennis, located approximately 35 miles west of Mabank.
Reid suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound during the incident in Ennis and is presently in critical condition at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas.
This investigation is active and ongoing, with the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office collaborating with Texas DPS Texas Rangers, the Henderson County District Attorney’s Office, and the Ennis Police Department to collect all pertinent facts and evidence related to the case.
